–The David Waldron Foundation, also known as Be Dave Brave, and its board members are excited to announce their first annual Cancer…What Now? Conference which will provide solutions geared towards overcoming cancer.
David, a Thomasville native, battled aggressive brain cancer twice before his life ended far too soon on November 9, 2014. David was first diagnosed with cancer in April of 2013, had an incredible surgery at Shands before going through two rounds of chemo and radiation. He married the love of his life, April, in March of 2014 and was given the all clear after his scan a week later. However at his three month re-scan a new and much more aggressive tumor was found, which he battled in his typical fashion, bravely and selflessly, until going home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2014.
David’s legacy lives on through the efforts of Be Dave Brave. This foundation, started by friends and family, was created to support individuals and families’ fight against brain cancer through promoting awareness, providing education, offering encouragement and sharing laughter. The organization aims to inspire and empower those affected by brain cancer.
Be Dave Brave will host its first conference to promote awareness and provide education to those fighting this disease. The one day event will include guest speakers from medical doctors, PhD’s, nurses, caregivers, and current patients.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 29 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center in Valdosta, GA. Tickets are $10, including lunch and can be purchased online at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/cancerwhat-now-tickets-17718372128?aff=ebapi
