Thomasville GA- This weekend, Kathy’s Shoes will celebrate its 30th store anniversary. One of the longest standing businesses of Downtown Thomasville, the shoe store was originally called Kathy’s Country Cobbler; named after its owner Kathy Murphy. Since August of 1986, Kathy’s has not only offered every shoe style for every lifestyle, but has also provided excellent customer service coupled with lots of laughs.
“That’s one of the reasons we’ve stayed in business so long,” says Kathy Murphy, owner of Kathy Shoes. “We treat our customers like family. We make sure they have the best experience and leave with the best shoes.”
While her passion for shoes and her contagious personality have certainly played a role in her store’s success, Murphy says that she owes everything to God.
“God has blessed this store. Everything I have accomplished, I owe to Him,” she says.
“This store is a form of ministry! We don’t just offer wonderful shoes; we offer the love of Jesus too.”
In honor of this remarkable milestone, Kathy’s Shoes is hosting an event this Friday and Saturday to say thank you to the community for their years of support.
Stepping into 30 Years
When: Friday, August 26th & Saturday, August 27th
Where: Kathy’s Shoes 119 S. Broad St. Thomasville, GA
Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm
For the two-day event, the store will be giving away a pair of shoes every hour! There will also be a series of celebratory sales throughout the day and a “photo area” where customers can earn $5 in “Kathy’s Cash” to take off their purchase. Sips and snacks will also be provided. After this accomplishment, we have to ask what’s next for the shoe store? According to Kathy Murphy, “We’re just going to keep chasing our dreams… in the most fabulous shoes, of course!”
